THE HEAVENS HAVE TO CRY
Code: po10-15

THE
STORY:
I was sitting in my car on a busy Auckland, New Zealand street while waiting for heavy traffic and a sudden rain storm to pass. As the water poured off the roof over the windscreen I noticed how the colours of the street lights were being refracted into all sorts of amazing patterns. Of course the artist in me begged the photographer to take a photo and then the poet wanted to create the story. The final poem was inspired after I had observed a rain storm in daylight passing over a valley and watering the paddocks below. Remember tears can be shed in joy or sorrow and the heavens this day were definitely not ones of sorrow.
