NAKED AND BLIND - and a rush of pleasure that took a man to discover his lover
Code: po10-01

THE STORY:

I know of a man who had a childhood experience at the age of 12. He was introduced by a fellow pupil to sexual fantasies being played out in masturbation. The cocktail of emotions, pleasure, guilt and shame that flooded his heart, lived with him as a secret for many years. The standard male dominated school yard and work place jokes about sex followed him into his middle age. Unfortunately, this did not quiet the buried shame he felt after being drawn into what he knew was a wonderful temporary pleasure. Fortunately he found the truth about sexuality.

After many years of searching through misguided opinions from his friends, philosophers and councilors with the promise of freedom, he met a Jewish man called Jesus. This Jesus taught him about the terror behind shame and when this man came to know the truth he was set free to live a new life. The shame had gone, the guilt had gone, the secret was out and he could live the life of a man with peace of mind.

He now see why the shamed secret life of a troubled man or woman can not fulfil their dream of true love, sexuality, trust and tenderness within a relationship when they are ashamed of their own body and it's functions, no matter what the reason.

I find his story to be healthy, honest and liberating and because of it I make this observation.

The human body, it's sexuality, it's biology, it's physiology, all add up to a wonderful and unique part of God's creative genius. To be ashamed of your sexuality and sexual organs is to deny the very beauty and place they play in the whole of your being. There is much religious rubbish and worldly philosophies that miss the very truth of The One who said of what He had made "It is very good" ... all of it!!!

This poem is about his journey, now unashamed to be honest, all be it with a brevity of text in this, his poem.
