THE
STORY:
What a delight to capture this image. I set up a bowl of sugared water on my friend Barrie's back verandah which was in the flight path of the Tui's. I set the camera with a 200mm lens + 1.4 converter and watched the action. So many photos to choose from, but the intelligent and sharp eye in this image was too much to resist for the proverb.
Smart, swift, alert, he was primed for action and I had this moment as we eyed each other.
He, like me probably wondering "What will the next move be?" He having no idea of the
inspiration I was having and the fact that he was going to be immortalised in this image
which is being marketed world wide.
The inspiration behind this is, that without correct knowledge, without knowing what the
purpose is for something which has been created you will only abuse it’s function out of our
ignorance. To know what something is made for you need to go to the manufacturer. This
bird, once it discerned the nectar in the water was not poisonous and was drinkable flew off
and informed his kind to come back to drink. Within his breed is the knowledge to know what
is good for themselves which is different than a sparrow, a dog or a human. As I observed
their behavior I noted they had there own language, as if talking to each other and then I
observed the sparrows nearby. They had know idea what was being communicated amongst
the Tui but they did keep their distance because they feared they might be attacked.New Zealand)
I look forward to the day when Jesus wipes the curse of evil out of this world and all creatures
will live as they were originally created to. In peace.
