STORY:
An image I saw reminded me of you women who started out with big dreams but finished up selling their bodies to get an income. From the promise of a good life to the broken promises and personal abuse.
I was setting up to take a photograph in preparation for a painting. As I was seating two friends on a park bench, it occurred to me that I could write a poem to compliment the scene and this is what developed.
This could be a story about any profession that has ended up hitting a wall of disillusionment.

Process
: Poem typed on an iPhone, photographed with a Canon 5D Mark 1 and 7D and edited on a Mac G5 in Photoshop CS4. The photo of the bowl was taken in my studio on a mirror with some fill light, a white backdrop collage. The other images of the flame and water in the bowl are art elements drawn in photoshop and the light reflections in water were through the windscreen of my car. .
