I RETICULATE MY GARDEN - "The New Tuscany" Matakana Valley, New Zealand

STORY:
I drive this road regularly to go for a windsurf and on my journey I often think about the men and women, gone before, whose influence has created the area as we know it now. I have read the story about the renaissance in the world of art and how Tuscany experienced major changes to become what it is today. I have often thought to myself, is a similar history taking place here? As vineyards and olive groves replace the dairy industry, they attract the vintner and the artisan, plus a rich culture of the arts, to a beautiful valley and the magic coastline of Matakana in New Zealand.
I have written a poem, yet to be published, that draws on this sentiment.
The beauty of this district leads me to express gratitude, not only for my good fortune, but as an act of praise to the Divine for all the riches we are blessed with. The lush greens of New Zealand are much admired by the tourist. On the day I this remarkable panorama, I could not help, light heartedly thinking, God was watering His garden. A felt a deep sense of peace and joy.
