THE STORY:

Inspired by the west coast sunset at Piha beach, New Zealand. The drama within the drama was technically challenging because of the low light conditions and as I had no tripod I rested the camera on a fence post and worked out how best to crop the scene and the embers I saw. I have left the print slightly soft pixilated for special effects enhancing the mood I felt.

Piha is a world famous Auckland beach known for its surf breaks and multiple rescues because of strong rips created by the large swells rolling in from the Tasman sea. This part of the New Zealand coast is extremely rugged, wildly moody and very photogenic.

Process : Multiple images photographed with a Canon 5D Mark 1 and colour enhance edited on a Mac G5 in Photoshop CS4. .

Hand signed and numbered (1- 30) by the artist. Printed on 350gsm EPSON PREMIER ART WATER RESISTANT PREMIER SATIN 350gsm with 8 colour EPSON ULTRACHROME K3 Inks, triple coated with PREMIER ART ECO PRINT SHIELD (2 coats front, 1 back).
